This 60 hour course prepares participants to work in home health care or residential settings. Personal care, communication skills, observing, reporting and documentation, how to provide care safely and deal with emergencies, consumer rights, aging and illness are among the topics taught. State certification is awarded upon successful completion of skill components and written exam. This course will be held at Comfort Keepers in Scarborough with an onsite clinical at a local facility. This is a grant funded course provided by Maine Department of Education to Cumberland County Adult Education programs. English Language Learners enrolling should have a CASAS Reading score of at least 5. Please contact our office at 730-5040 for an application.
